For Fox, God is One. He addresses God with many names – Light, Lord of hosts, Pure, Living God, Eternal, Exalted, unchangeable Life, Lord God Almighty, Creator, Wisdom, Order and Power – but He is One. He is all-knowing and can always be counted on. God has incredible Power and we are to be obedient to it. He still cares for all people and for all of His creation. We have the power of an endless life and will live with God forever.
Charlotte Condia investigates how we should live a life in which our minds turn away from the world, inward to God. We are to keep in unity, which also means being out of conflict. We are supposed to get along with other Friends and be in peace with everyone. It is best, he believes, to place our whole trust in God and walk before him in love and humility. We should aspire to be generous, merciful and full of goodness: to be like God as much as we humanly can be.
